Butterfield Trail Chapter, NSDAR

Corona, California

Welcome to the Butterfield Trail Chapter, NSDAR

Butterfield Trail Chapter, NSDAR

The Butterfield Trail Chapter, National Society Daughters of the American Revolution (NSDAR or DAR), signed our Report of Organization on October 11, 2020, the 130th anniversary of the founding of the NSDAR and the NSDAR Day of Service. Our chapter was organized in Corona, California, on November 5, 2020, with 33 members.

Our chapter name was selected to honor the trail that carried the longest transcontinental stage line. The Butterfield Trail crossed through the area that would later become Corona. The trail carried the transportation and communication to tie California and other western territories to established portions of the United States east of the Mississippi River. On May 25, 1934, the site of the Temescal Butterfield Stage Station was marked. At that time the ruins of the adobe station were still extant. The marker was replaced in 2006.
