California DAR volunteering

Future Butterfield Trail Chapter, NSDAR, members started volunteering on the NSDAR Day of Service before we were even officially a chapter. We cleaned grave markers at the historic Corona Cemetery and signed thank-you cards for veterans. After Butterfield Chapter, NSDAR, was recognized as a chapter, we donated more than 350 pounds of food to the Corona Settlement House for families in the Corona Norco School District. Our Community Classroom Committee collected art supplies for foster children with Court Appointed Special Advocates (CASA) in Riverside County. Through our Project Patriot Committee, we provide personal items for women who are deployed, and we wear red on Fridays to "Remember Everyone Deployed." We are also working on a scrapbook of "snapshots" of our Patriot ancestors in preparation for the celebration of the 250th anniversary of the American Revolution. We look forward to opportunities to serve schools in the Corona Norco School District, honor veterans through Wreaths Across America, and promote historic preservation and love of country.
